Submit an application via EDJOIN HERE during the application period listed below:

How to obtain a Substitute Teaching Permit

To obtain a substitute teaching permit, please visit the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools (FCSS) webpage HERE. Within the sections titled “Substitute Teaching” select "Emergency 30-day Substitute Teaching Permit" or "Prospective Teacher Substitute Permit" you will find detailed, step-by-step instructions for obtaining the necessary permit.
Once you have obtained the permit, please refer to the following application process.
 

Certificated Substitute Pay

Certificated Substitute Pay:
  • $200 per day
  • $210 after the 10th consecutive day

Whether for short-term or long-term employee absences, or to accommodate professional development activities, this system streamlines the process.
