Join Our Community Advisory Committee (CAC)

Your Voice Matters in Our Schools

 

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is a collaborative group of parents, educators, and community members dedicated to improving special education services within our district and the broader Fresno County area.

 

By law, the CAC provides a direct line of communication between parents and district leadership. We believe that our students receive the best support when their families are informed, empowered, and involved in the decision-making process.

 

Why Join the CAC?

  • Advocate: Provide input on the SELPA Local Plan and how special education funds are used.

  • Educate: Attend free workshops on topics like "Navigating the IEP," "Transition to Adulthood," and "Behavioral Supports."

  • Connect: Meet other families in our community who share similar experiences and build a supportive network.

  • Impact: Help the District and Board of Education understand the unique needs of our students from a parent’s perspective.

Who Can Join?

Membership is open to parents of students with disabilities (both in public and private schools), pupils and adults with disabilities, teachers, and community members. At least a majority of the committee must be parents of students with disabilities.
